May 5, 2016 is National Day of Prayer and National Teacher Day.

May 21, 2016 is Armed Forces Day – military personnel and former military personnel with proper identification can take advantage of various freebies and discounts.

May 30, 2016 is Memorial Day.

Activities

  • The Farmer’s Market is now open each Sunday at Fallsway under the Jones Falls Expressway; admission is FREE.
  • This is announcement is for all dancers, actors, musicians, visual artists, and literary artists.  On Saturday, May 7, 2016, there will be a Community Improvisation Jam at the Center for the Arts at Towson University from 6-9p.m.  The location is 7700 Osler Drive, Towson, MD 21204; admission is FREE.
  • The Maryland Film Festive will take place May 4-8, 2016 at 1701 North Charles Street.  Although this event is not free, this is an opportunity to see some of the celebrities in person as they introduce the featured films.  For more information, go to www.stationsnorth.org
  • May 6-7, 2016, the FlowerMart will take place at 699 North Charles Street.  For more information, go to www.flowermart.org
  • On May 19, 2016, the American Visionary Art Museum is presenting an exhibit entitled, “Walk in My Shoes – Raising Mental Health Awareness through Art.”  This FREE event is from 1-5pm.  For more information, go to www.avam.org
  • Every Friday from May 27 through September 2, take advantage of the Summer Sounds at Belvedere Square.  This is another FREE event.  However, you may want to bring cash, as there will be several food vendors.
